Hello I’m Bindy,
I am passionate about the therapeutic value of the arts and created my business Happy Habits to help young people learn, in an atmosphere of fun and purpose, about being healthy and happy. I write Children’s Educational Theatre, as well as School Programs, to engage young people in wellbeing learning.
Children’s Educational Theatre I believe that the arts can empower and heal, individuals and communities and that Children’s Educational Theatre is a useful tool for community development and social change, as the contagion effect of wellbeing learning can create a positive ripple effect throughout a community. I aspire to create relevant theatre that addresses the current needs of my community and state, bringing the transformative power of theatre to children who may otherwise not have the opportunity for such an experience.
Through a theatrical experience, children can be provided with a safe space to learn morals and to seek solutions to their problems. Every child wants to feel they are being represented when engaging with a play and that they can relate to and empathise with the hero or victim and Happy Habits productions aim to deliver.
School Programs Schools are becoming increasingly aware of the need to nurture and implement wellbeing programs that foster agency, resilience and self-management strategies. Therefore I have created ‘School Programs’ that are uniquely practical, steeped in current scientific research, and are highly interactive so that young people have fun whilst they learn about themselves and others through play, through stories, through games and in role. At the heart of all Happy Habits Children’s Educational Theatre and School Programs is a strong desire to make wellbeing learning engaging, meaningful and fun.
I hope I can provide support to you, your school, or organisation and I look forward to talking with you to discuss your needs.
